Major Organizational Change in MP Congress: Reena Bourasi Appointed State President of Women’s Wing

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: The Madhya Pradesh Congress has made a significant reshuffle in its organizational structure. Reena Bourasi, a leader from Indore, has been appointed as the State President of the Madhya Pradesh Women’s Congress. Bourasi, who contested the Sanwer Assembly seat in the 2023 elections and lost, succeeds Vibha Patel, the former Mayor of Bhopal Municipal Corporation, who held the position since March 2022.

Appointments and Organizational Reshuffle

The official appointment letter was issued on Wednesday evening by KC Venugopal, National General Secretary of the Congress. Alongside Bourasi, Avnish Bhargav has been appointed as the Chief Organizer of MP Congress Sevadal. Bhargav, a resident of Bhopal, has previously served as the in-charge of several districts.

The Madhya Pradesh Congress extended congratulations to both leaders via social media, stating:
“The All India Congress Committee has appointed Reena Bourasi Setia as the State President of MP Women’s Congress and Avnish Bhargav as the Chief Organizer of Sevadal. Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to both. We hope the Women’s Congress and Sevadal will achieve new milestones.”

About Reena Bourasi

Reena Bourasi is the daughter of senior Congress leader Premchand Guddu and has been active in the Sanwer constituency for several years. She is known to be close to Kamla Nath and had also been visited by Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Sanwer. Despite losing the 2023 Assembly elections against Tulsi Silawat of BJP, Bourasi has been recognized for her political experience and grassroots connect.

This organizational change reflects the Congress party’s strategy to strengthen its women’s wing and revitalize party activities in Madhya Pradesh, ahead of future electoral challenges.
